Mental health for human rights actors - Webinar series

A two-part webinar series on mental health for human rights actors, hosted by the APF in collaboration with OHCHR.

The series includes:

Part 1: Managing stress

Part 2: Dealing with vicarious trauma

Erika O'Donnell is a psychologist with many years' experience delivering counselling services for human rights defenders and humanitarian actors in UN agencies, as well as Emergency Department staff. In this first webinar she described the impact of stress, how to recognise symptoms and provides simple strategies to mitigate the risk of burnout. She also provides guidance on how to recognise when more interventions are needed, such as seeking professional support.
